Programme Director: Theo Sarantoglou Lalis
Theo Sarantoglou Lalis has been teaching diploma 17 at the AA together with Dora Sweijd since 2009. He has taught postgraduate studios at Harvard and Columbia. He was a visiting professor at Chalmers and Lund University in Sweden between 2009 and 2016. He has run architecture and urban design workshops in Brazil, China, Iran, Belgium, Sweden, Australia and the US and has lectured internationally. Theo is a co-founder of LASSA Architects, an international architecture practice with offices in London and Brussels. LASSA operates at the intersection between the fields of art, technology and social science. Current work includes commissions from the public and private sectors in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In 2010, LASSA was awarded a REA European research grant in partnership with world leading specialists as well as research institutions throughout Europe and Switzerland. LASSA was shortlisted for a number of awards for villa Ypsilon including the 2012 Chernikov award and the 2013 Lisbon Biennial award. Prior to founding LASSA, he worked in Brussels, London and New York and was a project architect at Future Systems and later a project director at Asymptote Architecture on a number of completed international projects. He received his masters from the Bartlett school of Architecture in London. He has experience practising architecture in 18 countries and is a registered architect since 2000.

Unit Master: Sebastian Andia
Sebastian holds a March II from the AADRL. He studied at Universidad de Mendoza in Argentina where he received his degree as an Architect with honours. During his studies, he participated in exchanges with Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City and Washington DC at WACC (Virginia Tech), USA. He has taught at several schools including AA School with Diploma 17 and Intermedia 16 and at the Bartlett. He is currently teaching Media Studies at the AA School. He is working as a Lead Designer at Zaha Hadid where has worked on a wide range of projects and competitions in China, North Africa, and the Middle East. Currently, Sebastian is a project architect on a major mixed-use development in North Africa. He previously worked in New York as Lead Designer at Asymptote Architecture. In parallel, he is founder of Sebastian Andia Studio which operates at the intersection between art and design. As an architect, Sebastian is member of Andia Arquitectos an architecture studio with offices in Argentina and London.
Unit Master: Marcela Spadaro
Marcela Spadaro is Co-Founder of NAARO, an architectural photography studio dedicated to document contemporary architecture around the world. Prior to founding NAARO, Marcela trained as an architect and worked for over 10 years at the forefront of contemporary architecture with Zaha Hadid Architects. Alongside her studio practice, Marcela teaches Architectural Photography at LCC, University of the Arts London. She has also taught Architecture and has been an invited critic to academic institutions in Europe and America, including the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London Metropolitan University, University of the West of England, Chalmers University of Technology Sweden, Warsaw University of Technology and Universidad Nacional de Rosario Argentina. Marcela studied Architecture at the Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo, UNL Argentina, where she graduated top of her class. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Practice and Management in Architecture, from The Bartlett School of Architecture UCL and a Masters in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London.
